Donegal women gaelic footballers made it four wins out of four in Division 1 of the Lidl national football league on Saturday in Convoy with a 3-11 to 3-9.
Maxi Curran’s side led by 1-7 to 1-5 and had to withstand a strong finish from Tipperary in the closing stages before securing the win. Karen Guthrie, Róisín Friel and Geraldine McLaughlin scored the Donegal goals.
The victory moves Donegal ladies onto 12 months from their four league matches to date (3 points for a win in the ladies NFL), and they are virtually assured of a place in the Division 1 league semi-finals.
The Tir Chonnaill women are joint top of Division 1 along with Galway who beat Mayo by 1-11 to 0-8 on Saturday evening.
