Calls have been made for changes to be applied to the Garda vetting process.
Proposed changes being put forward would help speed up the clearance process, which in turn will assist community based groups across the north west that are currently being left waiting weeks for clearance to take place.
Sligo – Leitrim General Election candidate Shane Ellis has made the calls for a national data base to be set up which would see individuals not have to undertake several different vetting application from various groups
The Leitrim native is calling for the entire system to streamlined.
