North West ESB pensioners protest in Dublin

ESB pensioners from throughout the north west are among those protesting against a ten-year pension freeze in Dublin today.

Last August, the ESB Retired Staff Association submitted a claim for a 7.7 per cent pension increase, which was rejected.

The association is calling for the traditional linking of pensions and employee salaries to be restored.

Sligo native and former ESB employee Bernard Cunningham is among those taking part in today’s protest in Dublin.

Earlier, he outlined to Ocean FM’s John Lynch what has led to them taking today’s action.
