The Taoiseach Leo Vadarkar says the decision to close Gurteen Post Office is one which cannot be taken by the government.
Speaking to Ocean FM, Leo Vadarkar confirmed that he will re-examine the situation after speaking to committee members of the save Gurteen Post office group on Friday last.
The decision to close the Post Office in Gurteen was based on census figures from 2016 and the Save the Gurteen Post Office group now claim that the population has increased over the past three years.
The Taoiseach has promised to take up the closure of the Post Office with the CEO of An Post.
