Enterprise plan for NW described as ‘roadmap’ for realising region’s potential



One of nine regional enterprise plans has been launched in the north west today.

Details of the plan for the North West region was announced in Drumshanbo, Co Leitrim at at event attended by three government ministers.

The ministers who came to Drumshanbo today were Minister for Business Enterprise and Innovation, Heather Humphreys, Minister for Finance and Public Expenditure and Reform, Paschal Donohoe, and the Minister for Education and Skills and Donegal TD Joe McHugh.

The North-West Plan identifies six Strategic Objectives, with actions to identify and enhance the visibility of skills and talent in the North West, as well as a focus on regional entrepreneurship, the potential of the blue economy and the Wild Atlantic Way.

The plan will also support the digitalisation of SMEs in the North-West.

Speaking to Ocean FM News, Mr Donohue says creating jobs is vital:

Minister Humphreys insisted the government is investing in rural Ireland.

And Minister McHugh says there is now a roadmap for investment in the north west.
