Donegal Community Hospitals will not be impacted by Children’s Hospital over runs.

The Taoiseach says there will be no delays to community hospital projects in Donegal because of over-runs on the cost of the National Children’s Hospital in Dublin.

There has been strong debate on the issue in Donegal, particularly after former Fianna Fail councillor Billy Grimes, now running as an Independent candidate in the local elections, claimed a proposed extension to the Sheil Hospital in Ballyshannon is going to be delayed.

Fine Gael branded the claims as ‘totally unwarranted scaremongering.’

Yesterday in the Dail, Taoiseach Leo Varadkar responded to a question from Donegal Fianna Fail TD Charlie McConalogue on the matter.
