Easkey no match for Beaufort at Croke Park

Easkey’s historic All-Ireland junior club football final appearance at Croke ended in disappointment on Saturday when they suffered a heavy defeat to the Kerry and Munster champions Beaufort, on a final scoreline of 3-17 to 0-5.

The west Sligo side simply had no answer to the power and panache of their Kerry opponents who scored three first-half goals to established a 3-8 to 0-1 lead by the interval.

On the day, very little went right for Dessie Sloyane’s side as Beaufort’s forwards attacked with menace, while at the other end, Easkey’s attack failed to fire.
