Kiltyclogher Heritage Centre recognised for its efforts in linking two communities

A north Leitrim group has been recognised for its efforts at the National Heritage Awards.

The event was the closing ceremony for the European Year of Cultural Heritage 2018, which took place this week in the Royal Irish Academy in Dublin.

Kiltyclogher Heritage Centre was shortlisted for the Heritage Communities Award in recognition of its events that brought two communities together to celebrate National Heritage Week last year.

Mairead Byrne, of the Heritage Centre, has been telling Ocean FM how they linked Kiltyclogher, in Leitrim, and Cashel in County Fermanagh, two rural areas that share a common landscape and heritage.
