A Sligo councillor is calling on Irish Water to provide local names and phone numbers for people to contact when their water supplies are affected or turned off.
Fianna Fail Councillor Tom MacSharry acknowledges Irish Water does provide contact numbers . . . but he wants the numbers to be contacts in the local area whom people can call and talk to.
Cllr MacSharry, who raised the matter at this week’s meeting of Sligo County Council, says this has been an issue in a number of areas.
