Repair of piers and harbours: Councillor says ‘stitch in time would have saved nine’

A West Sligo councillor is hitting out at the failure to provide funding in the past for the repair of harbours and piers in his area, saying a stitch in time could have saved nine.

Independent Councillor Michael Clarke says work is now needed on the piers at Pulladiva, between Templeboy and Dromore West, as well as on the pier at Easkey.

Cllr Clarke says the piers are used by both fishermen and by people for recreational purposes.
