PNA could extend industrial action to North West

Industrial action by members of the Psychiatric Nurses Association could be escalated to include health facilities across the north west region next week.

There are currently 120 members of the PNA working in hospitals and facilities in Sligo, Leitrim and South Donegal.

Over 6-thousand members of the association in certain parts of the country are refusing to work overtime today and tomorrow, in their dispute over pay and staffing.

Speaking to our reporter Therese Madden, PNA North West Industrial Relations Officer, Rory Kavanagh, says they will review matters next week to decide if the overtime ban and work stoppages will be extended into this region.
