A Midlands North West Member of the European Parliament has been nominated for MEP of the Year Award.
Independent Sligo MEP Marian Harkin is one of three nominees for the award which covers economic and monetary affairs as well as taxation and budget issues.
Ms Harkin has won the award on two separate occasions in the past and is the only Irish MEP to be nominated.
Speaking to our reporter Therese Madden, MEP Harkin says she is pleased to be nominated by the World Council of Credit Unions for her work in protecting the interests of credit unions.
