Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after an aggravated burglary in County Sligo.
An elderly woman was attacked by a male intruder in her home in the Carrickbanagher area at around 2.30am Saturday morning.
He was wearing dark clothing and left the house on foot with a number of items and a sum of money.
The alarm was raised when a family member returned home a short time later and the woman is currently being treated in hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
Sligo Gardaí are appealing for anyone with information who were in Drumfin between midnight and 3am.
Also any motorists who were travelling along the R293, Ballymote to Drumfin , the N17 between Collooney and Tubbercurry and the N4 between Collooney and Drumfin between 1am and 3.30am to contact Sligo Garda Station on 071 915 7000 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.
