Boil water notice issued by Donegal County Council after Cryptosporidium found

A boil water notice has been issued for a number of areas in South Donegal

Cryptosporidium has been found in the Ballmagroarty, Rath/Lisminton, Carricknahorna and Lurgan Group Water Schemes.

Donegal County Council, following advice from the HSE, have issued a boil water notice for the people affected in these areas.

Water used for drinking, food preparation and brushing teeth must be boiled before use.

This follows the reissuing of the notice for the Lough Talt water supply in Sligo as Cyrptosporidium was found once again after the notice was lifted in October.

There is no time frame for when either notice will be lifted.
