North Leitrim residents angry over delays in transferring maintenance of estate to council

Residents of a north Leitrim housing estate are angry over the delay in the council taking over the maintenance of the area where they live.

On-going issues with the Acres and Forest Grove” estates in Dromahair are continuing to have an impact on residents.

Leitrim County Council has lodged claims against the bond for the Acres Estate and a similar situation is also ongoing as regards the Forest Grove Estate.

Both estates still require work such as the completion of footpaths and public lighting.

The administration process of changing the ownership and maintenance responsibilities to the council and local residents groups from the developer is also proving to be along a drawn out process.

Local Fianna Fáil Councillor Mary Bohan has called on all concerned to try and find a swift solution to the situation.
