Leitrim is failing to maximise it’s full potential when it comes to attracting and retaining tourists in the County.
That’s the view of Leitrim Fine Gael Councillor Sean McDermott.
Councillor McDermott says despite impressive numbers visiting some landmark sites in the county, more should be done to ensure tourists are encouraged to visit more Leitrim based attractions such as the Ballroom of Romance.
Councillor McDermott says lack of a proper tourist strategy is resulting in the loss of revenue and limits the number of tourism jobs that can be created.
