Beef plan meeting to be held in Ballymote tonight

A Beef plan meeting for Sligo and Leitrim will take place later this evening at Ballymote Mart.

The meeting will get under way at 8 p.m. The Beef Plan movement currently boast 15,000 members across the Country and it’s hoped that the group will attract additional members from the North West at tonight’s meeting.

The Beef Plan movement’s main objective is to give more power to the farmer which will ensure that they obtain better prices for their livestock and with the establishment of a purchasing group farmers can also obtain greater value when it comes to purchasing supplies.

Eamon Corley is Chairman of the Beef Plan. He’s been outlining to Ocean FM the reasons behind why the group was formed.
