Letterkenny man named as Donegal Person for the Year

A Letterkenny man has been named Donegal Person for the Year for 2018.

Jason Black was awarded the accolade by the Donegal Association in Dublin for his achievements in the arena of global endurance sports, charity ambassador, together with his work as a mental health advocate.

He is the first Donegal person to summit Mt Everest and the first person from the Republic of Ireland to successfully ascend and descend K2, a feat he completed in 2018.

Mr Black is the 41st recipient of the Donegal Person of the Year Award and he succeeds the 2017 recipient former Republic of Ireland goalkeeper Shay Given.

Jason Black says he is honoured to be given such an award.
