Leitrim Council to contact Ministers over provison of speech therapy

Leitrim County Council are to contact the Minister for Health Simon Harris, and the Minister for Education and skills Joe McHugh to request the respective government departments to work together and provide speech therapy in the county’s primary and post primary for children with special needs.

The Council will make contact with the Government ministers after a motion was tabled by Fianna Fáil Councillor Justin Warnock at this week’s Manorhamilton municipal district meeting.

The Kinlough  based councillor feels that children have been neglected for long enough and that it is very unfair for children to have to avail of these services outside of the school environment.
