Rural Link services to be extended by three months

A bus service to transport people home in rural areas at night has been extended by 3 months.

65 Local Link services across the country have been running between 6 and 11pm on weekends since last summer.

The Transport Minister says the initial 6 month trial wasn’t long enough to see how well the scheme was working.

It’ll now run until the end of March, when a review will be carried out on future funding for the service.

Fiona O’Shea is the manager of the Donegal local link she say’s there has been a mixed uptake on the service across the County of Donegal.
