The Final Whistle: Episode 10 – 17/01/2019

“They got a mention in the Dáil…”

Easkey’s All-Ireland club championship exploits have made news in Leinster House in the run-up to Sunday’s All-Ireland junior club football semi-final meeting with Red Hugh’s of Donegal. Easkey club chairperson Gabriel McHugh gives us a sense of what reaching the All-Ireland series means for this rural west Sligo community. Team captain Eugene Mullen and manager Dessie Sloyane throw in their tuppence-worth as well.

PLUS – all seems well in the land of Leitrim women’s GAA again – as the county side gets up and running again ahead of the start of the new national league season. We get the lowdown on last Saturday’s Special AGM in Drumshanbo as Leitrim LGFA strives to put its best foot forward in 2019 – on and off the pitch.
