Sporting and community groups across Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal have received a total of €473,600 from the latest round of Sports Capital Grants, announced by the Minister for Sport, Shane Ross on Thursday.
€7 million euro is being awarded to projects nationally which had previously been deemed invalid under the 2017 round of the programme. These applicants were invited to re-submit corrected applications.
The successful clubs include Ballygawley Celtic soccer club in Sligo which is being allocated €68,000 for a new astroturf pitch facility. St John’s Community Development Association is receiving €64,000 for the development of a new sports pitch and multi-games area.
Annaduff GAA Club is the sole Leitrim applicant to receive an allocation (€40,000) in this latest round of funding.

- Illies Golden Glove Boxing Club (Development programme) €14,600
- IRD Milford Ltd (Outdoor gym) €5,900
- Letterkenny Golf & Social Club (Course development equipment) €21,600
- Quigley’s Point Swifts FC (Pitch development) €67,400.
