It’s expected that Tirchonnaill Bridge in Donegal Town will be open in the coming weeks following major works.
Working has been ongoing on the structure across the River Eske for the past few months.
Services now have to be diverted back onto the bridge, with some waterproofing and stonework just now to be completed.
Local Independent Councillor Tom Conaghan says it’s welcome news, particularly as there had been diversions and detours in the area.
