Donegal abortion rights group calls for exclusion zones at GP clinics

A Donegal abortion rights group says exclusion zones need to be established outside GP clinics offering abortions.

It’s after anti-abortion activists held a protest outside a GP surgery in Galway City yesterday.

The Donegal Abortion Rights Campaign says this type of behaviour is uncalled for and is putting huge pressure on GP’s and on those seeking abortion services.

Spokesperson Sinead Stewart says the Minister for Health, Simon Harris needs to put legalisation in place to prevent these types of demonstrations from taking place in the future.

Meanwhile the HSE has warned the public that there are a number of fake websites using a similar name to their MyOptions helpline.

There’s a concern that these unplanned pregnancy agencies “may have a hidden agenda”.

Sinead Stewart is urging people to check they are using the correct ‘My Options’ website and phone number.
