Leitrim man to administer Diocese of Kilmore until new bishop appointed



A Leitrim native has been appointed administrator of the catholic diocese of Kilmore following the retirement of Bishop Leo O Reilly.

He’s Monsignor Liam Kelly, from Aughawillian.

He is currently vicar general and parish priest of Killsherdany and Drung, Co Cavan.

He will be responsible for administering the day to day affairs of the diocese until a new bishop is appointed by the pope.

The Diocese of Kilmore has 34 parishes and includes most of County Cavan and parts of north Leitrim, Sligo and Fermanagh.
