Seasonal workers can now earn more, thanks to Donegal campaigners

A change to how much seasonal workers can earn is coming into effect from New Year’s Day.

Currently, people who work only for a few weeks or months in the year can only earn up to €12.70 a day but with the new regulation, they can earn upwards of €28 a day or €7,500 a year without it impacting their Jobseekers Benefit.

Education Minister and Donegal TD Joe McHugh made the announcement today after a six-years campaign by a number of local people.

One of the campaigners, Manus Boyle welcomes the news.
