Nurses & midwives vote to take strike action

Nurses and midwives across the north west have voted to go on strike over staff shortages and pay.

Around 2,200 nurses and midwives across counties Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal have been casting their votes over the last month.

Nationally 95% of members balloted were in favour industrial action.

INMO North West Industrial Relations Officer, Maura Hickey, says the executive will meet on January 7th and 8th to discuss the result and decide their next steps.
