Land League West warns of increased evictions across the North West

The Land League West says the forceful eviction that took place in Co. Roscommon last week is not an isolated incident and is being replicated across the north west regularly.

It’s after the repossession of a property in Strokestown ended in violence at the weekend.

Eight security workers were injured, three of whom were hospitalised in Sligo University Hospital and The Midland Regional Hospital in Mullingar.

Four vehicles were burned out and a dog had to be put down after a gang of men, being described as ‘anti-eviction activists’ , approached the security staff who were guarding the property.

Spokesperson for Land League West, Gerry O’ Boyle, says property repossessions are happening on a daily basis in Sligo, Leitirm and Donegal.
