Extension of confidence & supply – vital for political stability

A Sligo Leitrim Fine Gael TD says the extension of the government to the Summer of 2020 was necessary due to the uncertainty surrounding Brexit.

It’s after the Fianna leader Micheal Martin agreed to extend the Confidence and Supply Agreement between his party and Fine Gael for another year, saying it was in the national interest as Brexit looms.

It means there won’t be an election until 2020.

Deputy Tony Mcloughlin says this is not a time for political instability and chaos in Ireland.
