A Sligo councillor is calling for extra lighting in Coolaney.
Fianna Fail Councillor Keith Henry brought up the motion in the last meeting of Sligo County Council and says the additional lighting is needed around Rockfield School.
However, the council says there is no more funding available for public lighting and communities will need to apply for CLÁR funding in the new year.
Councillor Henry says he has spoken with parents about the the location and they feel it is a very dangerous place, especially around this time of year with darker evenings.
