Harkin: British PM unlikely to get enough concessions for Brexit deal passage in House of Commons

North west Independent MEP Marian Harkin says it’s unlikely Theresa May will get enough concessions on the Brexit deal to get it past a House of Commons vote.

The British Prime Minister will discuss the Brexit deal when she meets EU leaders in Brussels today.

Her visit is a last-ditch attempt to try to secure changes to the Irish backstop which many MPs in Westminster are opposed to.

The UK is due to leave the EU on March 29th next year.

However, Marian Harkin says the EU may be open to giving the UK more time to secure approval for the withdrawal agreement.
