Major funding boost for Donegal & Knock Airports



Two airports in west and north west have received over 2.5 million euro in funding.

Ireland West Airport Knock is set to benefit from over 1.9 million euro, while Donegal Airport will receive over 650,00 in funding from the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport.

The funding, which is granted under the Regional Airports Programme, supports safety and security practices.

Minister for Education and Skills, and Donegal TD, Joe McHugh McHugh says the allocation is a huge boost for the local tourism market and the local economy.

Meanwhile the Head of Marketing of Ireland West Airport Knock Donal Healy, says the money will contribute significantly towards the operational costs.
