A special conference is being hosted by the Domestic Violence Advocacy Service in Sligo today.
The theme of the event – which is being run in partnership with Safe Ireland- is ‘Understanding Coercive Control’.
The aim of the conference is to increase front line professional’s understanding of ways to improve responses to violence in relationships.
The event is taking place in the Radisson Hotel Sligo throughout the day.
Manager of DVAS, Carmel McNamee, says the conference is part of a wider strategy to create safer homes and communities.
