There has been a sharp decrease in the number of burglaries committed in the County of Leitrim over the past year with number recorded during 2018 coming in at half of that compared to 2017.
Superintendent Kevin English welcomed the figures at this month’s Joint Policing committee meeting in Carrick-on-Shannon.
Superintendent English says the reduced figures are down to a number of a factors including the assistance of the general public and a greater Garda presence right across the County.
