Sligo boxer Aaron Gethins made a winning start to his professional career in Castlebar on Friday night when he beat Croatian Silvije Kebet decisively on points in their four-round welterweight contest.
Gethins, 19, was fighting on the undercard of the Ray Moylette bill at a packed Royal Theatre in Castlebar.
The Ballinacarrow Boxing Club fighter was in control of the contest throughout, which was televised live on TG4. Gethins is under the guidance of well known Dublin boxing trainer Tony Davitt.
