Proposal that householders be paid to generate electricity



Households in the north west could be in line to receive payments for surplus amounts of electricity they generate and feed into the national grid.

The proposal is part of Sinn Fein Bill that’s going through the Oireachtas.

The so-called Microgeneration Bill would encourage households and small business to produce small-scale renewable energy and sell excess amounts back to the national grid.
