Motorists across the North West have been warned that there will be an increased number of Garda Checkpoints in operation over the coming weeks in the lead up to the Christmas period.
Superintendent Kevin English issued the warning at this week’s Joint Policing committee meeting in Carrick-on-Shannon.
He particularly warned motorists of driving in the morning time and still being under the influence of alcohol from the previous night still being in their systems.
