Calls for extra staff to tackle trolley crisis at SUH

A Sligo County Councillor has questioned HSE officials on the trolley crisis effecting Sligo University Hospital.

November was the worst month on record for overcrowding at the hospital according to the Irish Nurses ad Midwifes Organisation.

Cllr Keith Henry, who is Vice Chairperson of HSE West Forum, queried officials at a recent meeting on the total budget received, number of staff nurses and the number of beds available.

The Fianna Fail Cllr says despite an increase in budget, neither extra staff or staff have been provided.
