Four men were arrested yesterday charged with theft.
The men were arrested in Carrick on Shannon following investigations by Gardai in Sligo and Leitrim.
A number of items are believed to have been stolen by the men in Sligo and also from an electrical shop in Carrick on Shannon which had items stolen on Wednesday.
A vehicle was stopped in Carrick-on-Shannon and the four people were arrested, having travelled from Longford.
Three of the men were charged on Thursday in Sligo District Court each receiving an 8 month prison sentence, 4 of which are suspended.
The other man received a driving ban for 3 years for having used a vehicle in a crime.
Gardaí say further charges may follow
