Major traffic disruption is expected later this evening on the route between Sligo and Ballaghaderreen, going through Charlestown.
It’s because of a wide and high transportation vehicle that’s expected to leave Sligo Port about 9pm.
It will travel from Ballast Quay in Sligo, along the N4 Inner Relief Road/dual carriageway to Collooney, to the N17 and onto the N5 Charlestown to Ballaghaderreen road.
Sligo County Council is warning of major traffic disruption, particularly on the narrow section of road between Cloonacurra and Curry, on the N17.
Traffic will have to ‘give way’ at certain locations and remain off the road until the wide load passes.
Gardai will be helping with traffic management and motorists are asked to drive with caution and obey directions.
