Maugherow continuing the fight to retain its PO services

A north Sligo community is continuing the fight to retain its local post office, more than three months after it was closed.

Ballinfull Post Office, which served the Maugherow penninsula area for generations, has been shut since last August.

So far, the local community has not been successful in having the decision reversed, despite a strong campaign that included public meetings and lobbying various politicians.

It will now hold another public meeting tonight (Wed) at 8pm in Maugherow Hall to decide what to do next.

Campaigner Orna McSweeney says the community feels let down.
