In Sligo, rural towns, villages to get help with cost of Christmas lights — but not until next year



Rural towns and villages in County Sligo are to get council funding to help with the cost of putting up their Christmas lights.

But the money will not be available for this year; the €10,000 fund will be part of the council’s 2019 budget.

The council already provides €30,000 towards the cost of the lights in Sligo town.

But Fianna Fail Councillor Paul Taylor says he feels it’s only fair that towns and villages also get help with their Christmas lights:
