Stormy conditions across north west this morning



Large parts of the country are experiencing stormy conditions, with two national weather warnings in place.

A Status Yellow Wind Warning is in place until 3pm for an area including Donegal, Sligo and Leitrim.

Gusts of 90 to 110 kilometres per hour are forecast.

Winds are strongest along exposed coasts, where a few higher gusts are possible.

Met Eireann says a Status Yellow Rainfall Warning will be in effect until 2 pm today for areas that include Galway and Mayo.

Meanwhile, about 450 ESB customers in the Ballintogher/Collooney area of County Sligo are without power due to a fault in the system. It’s expected power will be restored about 11am.

There are also reports of trees and wires down on roads throughout the region.

They include Holy Well Road Sligo, where Council Roads crew are currently removing a tree.

There are reports of two trees down on the Maugherow to Grange road in north Sligo.

And the R292 at Culleenamore, Strandhill, is also currently blocked
