Sligo councillor says it’s ‘inappropriate’ for An Post to be encouraging people to shop abroad



A Sligo councillor is claiming An Post is encouraging people to shop abroad at the same time as it’s closing post offices here.

Fine Gael Councillor Hubert Keaney says it’s ‘inappropriate’ for a semi-state organisation.

He was speaking about its parcel and products service for Irish and international e-commerce businesses.

An Post has been aiming to grow its 25% market share by making it easy for companies and consumers to sell, buy, receive and return goods, wherever and whenever they choose.
