Over 90 positions in the Sligo and Letterkenny University Hospitals are either unfilled or only temporarily filled



There are more than 90 positions in the north west’s two main hospitals that are either unfilled or filled on a temporary basis.

That’s according to figures from the Saolta University Healthcare group in response to a query to the Health Minister from Deputy Stephen Donnelly.

About 50 of the vacant posts are in Sligo University Hospital and more than 41 in Letterkenny University Hospital.

The vacant posts are mainly in nursing, health and social care, as well as management and administration.

But the also include about four medical vacancies in each of the two hospitals.
