The R290 Group has welcomed positive works on the road.
The R290 road links Collooney, Ballygawley and Ballintogher and locals formed the group three years ago due to issues such as the road surface, flooding and the number of turns on the road.
Chairperson Oliver McLoughlin has welcomed works being carried out and said the road was an issue which has the whole community behind it.
He says the group intends to apply for further funding under the Low Cost Accident Scheme to provide further safety works.
