A Sligo Councillor is calling on Irish water to install water fountains around Sligo town.
Independent Cllr Marie Casserly says this initiative has been successful in other towns and encourages the refilling of water bottles.
She said this is being trialled in areas of high footfalls in Dublin and it is proving successful.
Cllr Casserly also says this will work in conjunction with the european ban on single use water bottles.
