Save Our St Joseph’s Hospital Action Group meet Government officials

A delegation of the Save Our St Joseph’s Hospital Action Group is in the Dail today meeting with Government officials over the future of St Joseph’s Hospital in Stranorlar.

The group will meet with Ministers Harris, Daly, and The Department of Health Secretary General as well as Senior Department of Health Officials, national, regional and local HSE officials and Donegal Oireachtas members in the Dail.

The thirty strong group is hoping for a reversal of the decision to close 78 beds on a
phased basis at St Joseph’s which was made on January 26, 2016. The intention is to move the beds to a new hospital at Letterkenny.

Chairperson of the Save Our St Joseph’s Hospital Action Group Fr John Joe Duffy said it is essential to keep the beds local, keeping people in their own communities
