New car registrations down across the north west



New car registrations from January to October are down throughout the north west.

The number in Donegal fell from 2,592 this year from 2,931 in 2017, an almost 12% drop.

In Sligo, the figure from January to October this year was 1,077, down by almost 6% from 2017.

And in Leitrim, the numbers fell from 547 last year to 481 this year.

The Society of the Irish Motor Industry says that total new car registrations in the country were down by more than 11% for October and 4.4% for the year to date.
