A long-serving South Sligo councillor has confirmed he will not be a candidate in next year’s local elections.
Fianna Fail’s Jerry Lundy, from Tubbercurry, was first elected to the council in 2004, fighting a total of three elections, increasing his vote in each.
Tubbercurry Fianna Fail Cumann has selected Romald Mullarkey, past-president of the town’s Chamber of Commerce, as its candidate in run in Cllr Lundy’s place.
